So, i have been putting together my list of mods to build the car to what i will call "completion" the list is getting long and expensive.
here it is:

k04 - aggressive file.
test pipe
exhaust manifold
tt maf
tt injectors
fmic - racetec
hose kit - samco
intake of some kind - abd,evoms ect

anyways i keep thinking, "price per hp" and if i am going to upgrade all this why don't i just to an elim kit from rennart? suggestions?
reliability? do i want to just get @ the max 280hp ~ 220awhp or just spend very little more and get 300awhp?

fyi - i have a stage3 clutch and lwfw, dp and exhaust etc.

 

IMO, I would go with the gtrs kit. After you go K04 you'll be craving more and more until you get it. My .02

you'll still need some supporting mods in addition to the kit though, mainly fmic, clutch upgrade, test pipe.

 

The aggresive k04 file is badass and all the torque youll have down low for city driving will never get old imo. K04=Torque Factory. A BT would be fun too, but i just see the K04 as the best of both worlds, very good power (with pc16 or j31 file) and low rpm spool up for useable power in the city without having to go to 4-5k rpms before boosting hard.

 

I'm K04 w/ regular giac software. I've never been in a stock 1.8t and i feel that my car isnt very "quick". If i were you i'd get the elim kit and call it a day.
But then again you could peice the k04 kit for under 1K.

 

There is quite a difference between the basic k04 file and the pc16 or j31 files. You get very close to BT power with those files.
