the snow flake dosnt know that lol, on some automatics its a switch to help get out of tight spots like snow it reduces the gearing of the tyranny like a 4x4 ( the switch/button has a snow flake on it ) and if left on its costs more in gas to run the car so you now know

haha that was the first thing the sales man pointed out to me when i got my audi. "now the smart people at audi will warren you of possible icing conditions by this snow flake that will appear when the temp drops below 40. however for some reason it turns off at about 20. and if you dont know it might be icy at 20 then you should not be driving anyways" thats about the best explination he could give me

Well that explains it! Makes perfect sense now. I feel dumb, but glad to know nothing is broken.
The range on mine must be 20-40. Maybe it's 41 or 42, can't remember.
Did I mention it's friggin COLD!!! That's what the readout SHOULD say - "FRIGGIN COLD!!!"
