Im getting a rack for my '05 sedan next week (snow season WOOHOOOO....) and i can't decide which brand to get, between Thule and Yakima. Anyone have any suggestion or any pics with the fairing on? thanks....

 

I am trying to make the same decision. I have been very happy with thule. They make a solid roof rack system. I have used thule on my yukon, 4runner and prelude. I would have to buy new fit kit and feet but the bars I have would work fine as well as my snowboard attatchment. On the other hand the audi factroy system looks a lot like the thule it stuff. I saw a factory rack system on a vw golf yesterday and it appeared that the rails sat higher therefore letting you turn a board face down without taking off the bindings.

 

i've had both and i prefer yakima over thule. yakimas will last longer and rust less, from my experience. factory racks are made by thule i believe. there's also saris, which is a lower profile rack that looks really clean, but they're a little more expensive.

I have a Yakima on my A4 and it is works great. I don't know about Thule, but Yakima has great customer service too.
