sluggish a4
I've noticed occasional sluggishness when accelerating agressively (usually in 4th). I drive a 2000 1.8t a4, chipped. I run strictly 94 octane. I checked the FAQ and the T/S guide and found nthg. You know the feeling you get when you tramp the accelerator on any GM or Ford with automatic transmission - you get a moment of dead air before the transmission downshifts? - it feels just like that - only without the subsequent acceleration. I stress its occasional - no rhyme or reason I can think of. I've read something about the diverter valve wearing out subsequent to chipping - could this be it?

The diverter valve can wear out prematurely. You can get a 710N valve for about $30 anywhere on the internet. It's the DV from a TT.
What exactly is happening? When does it happen? Do you have an auto tranny? How many miles are on your car?

Do this and see if it fixes the problem, you want a better one anyway with a chip.
Is it an automatic? Any codes? Anyhting else strange? What about in other gears?
