Sludge
Well my car was just diagnosed with Oil Sludge the other day after my Oil Pressure light came on a few times. I'm the third owner or the car. Myself and the owner before me did everything you're supposed to do. Found out after talking to the dealer that the first owner didn't change the oil for 16,000 miles. So if you're thinking about getting a used 1.8t its REALLLY important to have service records. Can't stress that enough.
Luckily, the dealer was kind enough to fix the car free of charge after I presented all service records.
Does anyone know what they do when they use a Sludge Kit?

RE: Sludge
It depends on how bad. New oil pump, pick up tube, several lines, and a bunch of other things. Though I have had all new engines installed if the sludge was really bad. Its most important to keep the records of it since you owned it. The warranty is 8 years unlimited miles and must have records from the day you owned. Though sometimes they like to fight that.
