RE: slow over 100 mph
well i went and got the MAF at the dealership 138 bucks w/ core. installed it and went for a drive. car seemed alittle quicker. i only got it up to 70 mph. traffic is a bisnitch. only thing i did noticed that was different, is when accelerating under full throttle the car hesitates alittle mid way through the rpm range. i will have to do another log tonight and post.

RE: slow over 100 mph
ok so i drove it for about an 1/2 to see if i could notice a difference. Then i got a CEL. so i scanned the car and got these codes
3 Faults Found:
16804 - Catalyst System; Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0420 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16524 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S2: No Activity
P0140 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
17522 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S2: Internal Resistance too High
P1114 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
Readiness: 0000 0000
1 Fault Found:
00787 - Temperature Sensor in Fresh Air intake duct (G89)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
I just installed a test pipe this last weekend but i have drove it over 200 miles with no CEL (and i did the mod with the defoulers too)
and i just checked my previous scan logs and i had the temperature sensor in fresh air intake duct code fault back on july 17, 06. i guess i didn't see that fault when i scanned the car. Any ideas?
and the car still sucks to get over 100

At least change the ects, its a $6 part and go from there. Sorry to hear the MAF didnt help, but why didnt you at least try to see if audi would cover it due to your low mileage, or if they thought that was the problem if you were unsure? I guess you would have had to at least pay a diagnostic fee.. But an ects will kill your performance too.

RE: slow over 100 mph
i talk to them (dealership) about it they said the same thing that you guys did. change the MAF. I talked to them about covering for the MAF since the car only had 58k on it. they said no 50k or less then they would have. sucks...but...What is an ects? what does that do?

RE: slow over 100 mph
well took my car for another run got up to 115. but driving pack home i got another CEL. same codes as before. i wonder if the connector for the maf is on good? and when i first started it up the CEL was blinking and the car was running really rough so i turned it off, started it again and it was fine. did a scan and the it said that misfire on #1,#2,#4 cyclinders. My car is falling apart after i put that maf in. but i am leaving for the dealership now to get the ects.
