+1 for e-bay short shifter, got one for my Scion tC last year, $20 and works like a charm, hopefulyl i'll get around to getting one for the audi someime soon... and yeah its the same piece of metal that you would get anywehre else...

ok...but will this stop my slop? and on the ebay shifters ive looked at ..they dont have thay o-ring type of rubber bushing around the pivot ball of the shifter...the same pivot ball that is plastic(stock)....and how big of a b!tch is it to put in?

they are fairly easy to install and it depends what you mean by sloppy like the gear slots are wide and the shifter can move around easily once in gear or do you mean like there is alot movement needed to get from gear to gear

this is what you need the slop isnt in the shifter itself, its the u-joint shift linkage from the the shifter itself to the tranny, the bushing are rubber, you basically have to pul them out and replace with poly urathane parts.
