Default A simple boost PSI question

I hear people say that with GIAC/APR/or whatever chip you should be spiking at like 20 PSI and holding at like 16-17. Well what I am wondering is at what point are you suppose to be hitting that? Like in what gear and at what RPM range? And how long is it supposed to HOLD? Just a little curious about that.

I hold between 18-20 psi on any given day and at any given RPM in any given gear. My boost is very consistant compared to other peoples from what i have read. Some people only boost to 10 psi in first, and then 15 psi in second, but only up till 5k rpms. Mine is pretty steady accross the board.
As for spikes... I used to spike to 23 psi or so with the stock n75 and settle/hold 17ish. Now, with the n75 H, I might spike to 21 psi.

Really? Wow I am def. not doing that. At the moment I get like one spike that will get near 17 but nothing really holds. Gotta have a nasty boost leak. You saw my boost vid right?

Anyway, another thing I was curious about is how low should my vac ever go? When I am driving and let off the gas pedal the gauge shows me going WAY down like under 30Hg. But if i slow down and stop and idle, it goes back to around 20-25ish. That is weird, I don't suppose that is normal right?

At the end you can see my needle drop down to the floor. The boosting in this isn't going to be accurate. I boost more now, maybe I will take a new vid tomorow after I install my 710N!

Would a new DV have ANY affect on a Boost/Vac problem??

ya when i boost with APR i spike to around 17 and hold at 15. my giac used to spike till 23. Im guessing this is normal but with the chip and intake my turbo is so much louder over stock with just intake. With the intake it is normal to hear your turbo pretty loud right ?
