RE: Short Block optoins
Buy the built block being sold here. He has a great setup and is asking $3k shipped for it. Drop it in and your ready for w/e turbo you can dream of.

Cincy, i think thats kind of unrealistic for me. I would love a stock bottom end with forged pistons for security measures, say a gt28rs even if i wouldnt need it, i dont need some random explosion and this whole situation of a new motor to arise. Where should i look for say slightly used bottom ends with new rings etc? Or should i just buy a used one and have it overhauled. Id love any opinion.

OK I have to ask a noob question since i've never read about it. Whats the difference between long and short block? If there is a thread I haven't found link me to it and save a few words.

Thanks, I know about those 2 and I wasn't getting them mixed up if you were wondering
Aren't there a few cars in the classifieds being parted with good engines on these forums and audizine also, it's probably worth keeping an eye open. Bore it to 2.0!!

Chaos, to be honest i dont know what i need anymore, maybe advil. The car only got worse after changing the head. So i ask how could that be? Timing is right on, valves werent bent when taken out etc etc. rings seemed good along with the cylinder walls. I still have a clunking sound which makes no sense because the head should be perfect, and if it was a valve before then surely the head shop would have told me it was a bent valve. I had 180 compression on all cylinders except number 1 which was at 120, now i have 150 on all and 105 on the first. So is the head worse now? clunking sound is still there. THe list goes on and on, and we are trying to diagnose it without doing a motor swap at this point.
