Service warning on startup.
Hi guys.
Ok so i just got a 2004 B5 and when i turn the ignition it says 'SERVICE'. I obviously know i need a service but does this service NEED to be done via an genuine Audi garage or can i take it down my local garage for a standard £50 - 70 service.
Will this turn the service light off or do i need to take it to Audi. Im sure they have the same equipment but i was not sure if other garages have the tools needed to turn off the 'SERVICE' warning. How does the car know its had a service lol?
Cheers guys

Service reminder comes on after so many miles (kilometers). You can take anywhere or change the oil yourself. If I remember right the reset procedure is:
With car off hold the wrench button and the button to the right. I think it has 0 on it. Turn the key on an continue to hold both buttons. That should reset the reminder.
