Service question about suspension/control arms
I took my 1998 Audi A4 2.8 to my loved and trusted repair shop, and they told my that my lower control arms needed fixing, which was under an Audi recall. Well, I had taken my car in to the Audi dealership in December specifically for them to check out the lower control arms, and they told me that everything was fine. Now after a week of groaning and squeaking, and a diagnosis from a repair place that I trust completely, my car's back at the Audi dealership, where they tell me that it could be anything with the suspension, but definitely NOT the lower control arm, hence not covered (for free) by the recall. I've had bad experiences with this dealership and don't trust them. Should I just cough up the cash and take my car back to the guys I trust, or should I fight Audi? I am feeling really hopeless and jerked around. If anyone's had any luck fighting "da (Audi) man", please let me know. Thanks.

RE: Service question about suspension/control arms
Take it to a different dealer ushally when the car is making goaning noise from the front suspension it is the control arms but if they are just making noise they will not be covered as this is not a recall it is a service action if the part is not worn out it is ok making noise does not mean it is worn out

RE: Service question about suspension/control arms
yeah my Audi falls within the years of the recall. I went to have it checked out, and they told me that it wasnt all of them, just ones with certain part numbers.
