Default Serpentine Belt..."U want how much?"

Wow... I just took my car in for an oil change and they gave me a huge list of sh*t I need to fix. One of them, the most important, is the serpentine belt, and they can replace it for $175. Is that something I could do myself for cheaper? I replaced a serpentine belt in a Jeep, and it was a piece of cake. Are Audi's fairly easy?

Is the mechanic just pulling my chain? Here are some other problems he said I need to fix:

-Rear axle seal is leaking = $330
-Oil cooler lines leaking = $45
-Throttle Bore clean = $69
-Cooling system service = $80
-Brake fluid flush = $80
-Passenger side CV Joint = $370

WOW!!! I feel like I am driving a death trap!

Need LOTS of feedback please!

That belt should be replaced when you do the timing belt around 75 to 90K mi. Get a second opinion.

Haha sounds like someones being taken to the bank. If your a little mechanically inclined you could do some of that stuff yourself, if those problems really exist.

Rear axle seal; Make sure that you keep your rear axle oil level full. Cost 3 dollars a year.

CV joint, should be replaced if the seal is cracked, or the cv joint is clicking. Part is about 140 dollars for new half-shaft.

Brake fluid flush, Suggest doing it every two years.

Throttle body cleaning,, totally optional. You can do it with a can of throttle body spray for 4 dollars.

Coolant flush. Not needed on audi if you use G12 and distilled water. You can do it yourself for about 24 dollars.

I was gonna say, what type of coolant did he say he was gonna replace it with. If he didn't say G12 I would have to laugh in his face and tell him what a dumbass he is then walk out.

Yeah. F*CK that mechanic. He's just trying to make a crapload of money off of me.

You know what, he told me that if I can't afford all those repairs, he can provide special financing. What the f*ck is that sh*t???? I should've known he's been trying to stiff me.
