Default sensitive ESP?

so I have been driving my car a while now and noticed that whin i take a turn relatively fast, as in give it power before the turn is up, the ESP light comes on blinking at me. now i thought that ESP prevented wheelspin. i wasn't driving like a maniac, jst a little faster than usual. also from standstill i drop the clutch at 2500rpm, the tires spun out (thts not tht night of an rpm) what gives? isn't ESP to prevent wheelspin? notice I dont have the quattro

ESP prevents over-steer and under-steer, byapplying the ouside front
or inside rear brake.

In respose to WildLife it happens. At 2500rpm I have a 3.0 and at that range it will give a nice smell or rubber. Hell I had an 06 Civic before the 03 3.0 and at 2500rpm that will lite um up. If your looking at Preventing wheel spin get a BMW 7 series they dont move fast enough to do jack or jill. All ESP dose is apply brakes to stop your from slamming into a poll as you do something stupid. Geting it to come on means you need to change your driving habits a little and keep the line right when you turn avoid jerking the steering whell in a turn thats a sure fire way to get it to come on.
