I hear it's caused by moisture in the car, it weakens the glue that holds the headliner up. Is it still under waranty? It might be covered.

I have a story thats somewhat related:

I was at my Audi dealer waiting in line at the parts dept. The guy before me was talking to the salesperson about his headliner. Apparently, the guy was smoking a cigar out his sunroof and burnt the headliner. If I remeber correctly, the dealer quoted him ~$2000 to replace it [:@]. I sure hope that yours doesn't need replacing.

I have a B6..I believe that the headliner will be under my warranty since this happened naturally and its not like I smoke in the car or anything...so they better fix it!

there are quite a few people on Audizine who have recovered their headliner with suede. Looks pretty nice, but you could do anything up there really, and it doesnt seem to difficult. Maybe $50 for fabric and spray adhesive
