RE: SAD BUT HAPPY.....TEST PIPE, REVO, DVSFiT
Please cool down a bit. You all look so impressed with a test pipe.
I can only say that the gains you can see is an advertisement, they showed the best gains they could produce (I am wondering if they are real).
With a test pipe you will make a backpressure lower, so turbo will spool up more quickly (that will feel like a little more crisp response) and will let you to feel torque starting maybe 300-400rpm earlier. On high rpm you will get something around 5hp.
Prior discussing this thing with emotions, it would be nice to see real dyno chart prior and after test pipe. Not the one from advertisement.
Yes, test pipe is needed when you have a mild moded car.
A friend of mine has: 1.8TQ 96' with testpipe, also replaced middle muffler with pipe, put front mounted intercooler, put injectors from saab 2.3T, k03/k04 hybrid turbo, bov, a custom made program for ECU. He is driving at 0.9 bar boost and make 5.5 sek to 60mph. That's the real numbers. Now he is experiencing problems with clutch, stock clutch is not able to hold this torque. I hope after changing clutch he will improve 0-60mph time.
If you are not worried about emissions, then go with a test pipe, the car will response a little better, but don't hope to get more.
