I never said the EVO was reliable, I said it was powerful. And an STi only takes 380, even at 390 you risk snapping a rod, dont believe me? Call P&L Motorsports. 847-678-4311

dont put words in my mouth and please get your facts straght before telling me im full of ****.

HP capabilities are dependant on just the block. When you take an Evo to the track with computer support, an AEM EMS, full trailor (some kid and his dad), you make a few passes on the road course and then it dies. Broken in properly and everything. Pull the compression and cylinder 3 pulls 0. Id say they arent as strong as subjected to be. Like I said are there 900 hp evos, yeah. Are they fast? Yeah. Are there many doing that? No. Did they ever pop a block? yeah they did. Drive a 550whp evo everyday, through stop and go and tell me how long it lasts. Both cars have their postive and negative as do all performance cars. Overall the STi reigns. The only problem Ive seen is 1 tranny syncros go bad. It was replaced and running fine since.

There are 900hp Evos, like AMS, but they are one of a kind.
These are just AMS's 900+whp evos
Shop Evo - GT42R
Anthony's Black and silver Evo - GT45R
John's Gold Evo - GT42R
Dan Bajalis White Evo - GT42R
Chris Black Florida Evo - GT42R
Garret Parkers White Evo - GT42R
James Rumsey (UK) GG Evo - GT42R
Frank R Evo - GT42R
Greece Evo - GT42R
Thomas Nagorski Poland - GT42R
AAP Motosports EVO IX - GT42R
MK Automotoive Turkey - GT42R
Ron Fussman Israel - GT42R

That is about all I can think of. Several of those cars are being put together right now. Should be a fast year.

And they are all AMS cars built by AMS. Who else is out there doing that? Id still say that makes AMS one of a kind.

Yeah but Dave's car is basically just a drag car from what I understand. The Fastest Evo was just sold. It was owned my Curt Brown, kind of local to me. If I recall right he use to drive the car into the track, but he was an amazing driver as well.

When it comes to this stuff its hard to compare Evos and STis, because there arent many STis out there doing this kind of stuff. I dont know of any 900 whp STis, but at the same time that doesnt mean they dont exist. Plus, like I said before STi parts are WAY more expensive than Evo parts. You can have a lot more HP money into an STi while having way more power out of an Evo on the same amount of $$$.

When you said they 'pop left and right' you insulted their reliability.

Why do the STi fanboys get so bent out of shape when you tell it like it is... I love the car, but it is more limited power-wise then eaither of the other two options(audi or evo)

Its not just the block, the stock STi trans isnt as strong eaither, the US spec STi trans will bend the shift fork over 350bhp after a few thousand miles, you have to get a JDM trans imported with the shorter throw/gear ratios, AND cryotreat it to handle the 380bhp reliably, or you will be tossing your trans every 20-40K.
