RE: S4 vs Sti
lets look at it this way, out of the box, the STi has MUCH more potential. That's no putting discrimination toward the S4, but lets be real, its basically a luxury car with added performance. Its not ready to hit the track stock, like an STi is. lets face it, that car was built for one purpose: racing, rally in particular, but racing nonetheless. I would stipulate that any good S4 driver modified could beat an STi, but put that driver in the STi and I call all bets off. Straight line this argument could end here, put it on a road course and this debate will never end.

RE: S4 vs Sti
Stock STi still only run 13.9 seconds, they are not as fast 'straight line' as everyone thinks they are.
Also Stock STi internals (rods) can only take 380 BHP, so they are good for about 330-335 AWHP, so they are more a match for a fully modded A4 then a modded S4.
Stock block, fully modded STi is 380 bhp, and a stock block fully modded A4 is 350-370 depending on who you talk to, so considering the STi is a 2.5L and the A4 is a 1.8L that still makes our motor better power per liter.
I love the STi, I have driven one fully modded to 380hp many times as my best friend owns it, but you guys need to stop hyping up the STi, its not a 'god car' the EVO has a much stronger powertrain. If your going to hype something up, hype up the EVO. A modded EVO would actually be a challenge to a modded B5 S4.
EDIT: oh yeah and the STi took an entore setup to get that power, new BT, Injectors, BOV, Fuel Rails, Exhaust mani/intake mani, Fuel Pump, Standalone ECU, ETC, so it cost WAY more to get the power then it would cost to get that from an A4 OR S4.

RE: S4 vs Sti
OH god, now I know your full of Sh**. An Evo can make a lot of power, but those engines are weak. They pop left and right. It a mitsubishi for god sake. The only reason people buy the Evo over the STi is the PRICE on modified parts. STi parts are rediculously expensive, compared to Evos.
STis and Evos, alike, werent built for straight lines. There are 900hp Evos, like AMS, but they are one of a kind. If your a mitsu guy you stick with the Evo, if your not you go for the STi. That's just how it goes.
