RE: Is the S Line option worth the cash?
Personally I think the b7 looks humdrum, the S line package looks hot. Its not just about the body kit, bigger wheels, and stiffer suspension, small interior details set it apart from the regular A4. The 3.2 is alright but with just a chip the 2.0T is right up there with it. Not to mention the 2.0T is lighter and gets better gas mileage. Remember the R&D AWD sedan comparo? Even though it had the lowest hp the 2.0T S line still won. SO yea, it is worth the extra $2500

I've narrowed it down to two cars. The Legacy 2.5GT Spec B and the 2.0T S Line.
I'd like to have Navigation but it requires the convenience package and will price in at $4100 all said and done just to get the system into the car.
It's going to be a tough decision between the two. On one hand, you have a well performing car with Navi and alcantara inserts with the Spec B. On the other, you have a luxury sport sedan with the A4.
What do you guys suggest in ECU? APR? AWE? Who else is available and what vendors are you guys using?
Thanks for all the input, it has been very helpful!

the 3.2 has 55 more hp than the 2.0, but a chip/dv and you are up to par with the 3.2 I chose my 2.0 because it was alot cheaper than the 3.2 and had prettymuch the same packges/options. Not to mention modability.

I looked at the 2.5GT Spec B. It was very nice car. Very stylish and very fast. However, IMO it doesn't feel as stable as the Audi does. With the Subaru, at least when I was looking, you couldn't get bluetooth and the NAV wasn't integrated into the rest of the car at all. The different driver modes are cool, similar to that of a BMW. The Audi felt more stable, was quieter, and a better car for the same price. The Audi also gets better gas mileage than the Subaru, even when somewhat modded.
Here's my thinking about the Japanese sport model cars. By that I mean the WRX STI, Lancer EVO, GT SPEC B, SPEED6. These cars can be bought, as the base model for, not all but most, around 20,000. It's almost impossible to get a new B7 A4 for under 30, even with the bare minimums. In essence, you're paying 36,000 for a car worth 20,000. Take both out on the highway. When you drive the Audi, you'll know what your paying for. The Japanese cars just don't have the same feel as the German ones. I looked at an Acura TL Type S. Great car, lots of cool stuff and it was super fast. On the highway though, it was loud and felt like a Japanese car. German cars have a different feel. They feel sturdier. Remember, Japan may make good cars, but Germany (and Italy) are the only countries that make cars that are meant to go over 100mph on a consistent basis. The Jap cars may do 100 easily, but I guarantee you'd feel safer in an Audi.

The FWD is a little cheaper, so yeah, you may have a shot at getting close to, if not slightly below 30,000. It's late. I'm going to bed. Hopefully I'll be getting my baby back tomorrow...and getting an RSN-E very, very soon!
