Default Is the S Line option worth the cash?

I am looking at a 3.2 Quattro 6spd. It's been a long decision in regards to BMW vs Audi vs Lexus. I decided the Audi is a more versatile vehicle with enough room in the back for 4 adults.

I was wondering if the S Line is worth the $2500 or whatever the option costs? I plan on dropping it down later down the road and putting on a forged wheel. Does the S Line suspension sit lower? How's the handling with the option?

Any other advice you can give somebody getting into Audi performance? How about some vendors outside of the site sponsors? I like what MTM and STaSIS does with the Audis.

Thanks in advance and all opinions in regards to S Line, and even performance suggestions are appreciated. I will continue to search around as I try to get into building a decent little 3.2.

Also, please post pics of some of your rides. Preferably cars with a drop. I'm not looking to tuck the car, just want something with little fender gap. I will probably go H&R unless you guys know of a better alternative.

One more question, what do you guys think of the 2.0T? Would you rather start with a 2.0T or a 3.2? I went onto AWE's site and saw they only have products for the 2.0T? I don't want to get stuck in a car that lacks power with the Quattro system as performance mods will be very minimal for a couple years.

First off, the 3.2 IMO is a waste of money. You pay an extra 3 or 4000 for, I believe, 50hp. You can get that for a little more than a $1000 with a chip and proper componets with it. There is less engine modding you can do with the V6, since its not a turbo. With the S-line, the differences are bigger wheels, 18" vs 17", a sport suspension that lowers the car about, I think, 10mm or so from the stock. You also get a front and rear diffuser, and an S-line tag on the front grille. If you want to do add your own kit, and your own wheels and your own suspension I wouldn't get the S-line. You'll be wasting your money. (Most of the money you spend on the S-line goes to the wheels)

(I have a 2.0T and its got plenty of power- does 80mph at 2600RPM and when you downshift to 4th, or 3rd if your feeling saucy, the car still moves pretty good - although the mods will do wonders)

ahhhhh ur real intentions. i see. well as b7quartz said the 3.2 is a waste if ur gonna do engine mods. get the 2.0 for that. the 3.2 is a cruiser for like executives who just wanna drive and not have to be embarrased cuz their car broke down.

Thanks for that post. Really what I was looking for in terms of which model to choose. First and foremost, this car is a commuter so I'd like the torque for passing. I'm not going to mod much, as I have a bike and a Mustang to get giggles out of but you can't take the gear head out of me but an ECU flash from AWE is something I will most likely do. I know Stasis is putting out something like 270-280 with their car after their ECU flash and a catback.

What springs are you guys using to get a nice tight fender gap? Wheels, I'll probably go 18x8.5" when I am ready for a little suspension work.

Uhh have you ever driven the 3.2 FSI? Its a torque monster, itkeeps up with my B5 S4 stock, hardly a waste of money, i love that engine!

I didn't even know Stasis does a chip. It doesn't say anything about it on their website. I know they do exhuast, springs and brakes. Can you show me where their ECU upgrade is? Thanks!

Never said it was bad. I said if you want to do mods, its a waste. If you want nice, moderately powered engine, go for it! (and no i haven't)

There was a write up in an older European Car mag...I think the May 07 issue.
