Run off the road!

Run off the road!
I've got a 2003 A4 Quattro. Ok, so it snowed here recently, and the night of the snowfall, I was nearly t-boned by a blazer who couldn't stop at an intersection. Long story short, I veered, slid into a curb with front passenger wheel pretty much parallel to it, under ten miles an hour. Now alignment's slightly off (I've had this car two months, needless to say, I'm kinda mad), and the suspension makes a knocking sound when cold and when turning the wheel left, especially when backing out of the driveway. Anybody have any ideas what could be bent or out of place under there? I realize I should have it looked at, and the appointment's made, but I thought I'd ask here too, for a second, unbiased, opinion! Thanks!

tie rods are definately a common thing to bend when hitting curbs..

My GF did the same thing to her Eclipse... I dont even think she hit it as fast as 10mph, so it doesnt take much. She had the same issue as you do with an odd "knocking" noise when turning her wheel slightly right. (Noise would go away if turned all the way, it was really bad on like on-ramps).
Turned out to be a Tie - Rod.
Make sure you show the mechanic whats happening, otherwise hecould go in and replace every component he can to mark up the cost....
good luck

Probably is the tie rods, mine were making the same kncking sound till i replaced them, but then again they were shot anyways. also if i were you i would have just taken the hit. i got t-boned by a car going 50mph into my pass door and i walked aways just fine. then again this was an suv.

Thanks for all the advice... Much appreciated!
Lol, saudi, I'm not so sure about taking a hit, especially when the car is so new (to me, anyways), though a gigantic insurance check IS an attractive possibility!
