Royal Purple
I know you guys all love oil change questions. . . haha
Just curious if i go with Royal Purple they do not have 0W40 or 0W30, just go with the 5W40 and i'll be good to go?
Also, yes I am fully aware there are approximately 5 million posts about this but:
What kind of oil/air filters are you guys running just out of curiosity?
I hear a lot of hype about the big MANN filters. . .
I've got a 2000 A4 1.8TQM.

RE: Royal Purple
For this time of the year 5w40 is fine. I recently switched from expensive amsoil 0w40 to valvoline 5w30 and the car feels more responsive, go figure. I use the large mobil1 filter, its a micro filter unlike the conventional paper ones.

i use Royal purple's 5w30 all year round with either a napa preuim oil filter or a fram xtra gaurd I used the lucas oil performance 5w30 and it seemed as if my car was slugish afterwards i also use royal purples fluids in my diff and transmission and it was a great inprovment over what ever the former owener had in it

RE: Royal Purple
I think aftermarket filters are still small... because although Audi changed the filter at the dealerships, I think aftermarket guys still give you a small one.
However, the big filter is the same as those used on say a 95 jetta diesel... not a TDI though iirc. Just a regular diesel.
