Default roll cage and skids

im looking in to roll cages and skid plates is there a place that makes them for thea4 or should i just buy a universal one and make it work

nah i was searching craigslist and found a 97 1.8t for 2500 bucks with a ton of miles and i decided i wanted to rally it so here we are i just replaced the timing belt and ordered a chip im looking to get it out there for under 5000k if possible it more of just a fun like side project

your roll cage should be a custom one that is all welded in. a skid plate can be found inline but im drawing a blank on the name of the website. also you could make one your self

i custom rollcage could cost you $2-3k depending on how elaborate it is. But i think some of the small rally events you might not even need them. They are just small fields that they run a course on. I could be wrong, which i usually am

If it's rallycross with the SCCA your refering to then no you are not required to have a rollcage, but a skid plate would be a very good idea. They are small enough events that you will not reach high enough speeds to need one. Most rallyx events i've been to you will barely get out of third gear. Though i have seen a few cars almost roll over. I've gone up on two wheels. One car went far enough up I could see the entire underside of the car. But that was an unusually large and fast track at the raceway in Nashville.

DO NOT buy a premade rollcage if you are being serious about it. spend the extra money and have one custom made and welded in.
