Ripping the OEM Tires off the B7.....

Ripping the OEM Tires off the B7.....
If memory serves me correctly, the OEM tires on my ride are Goodyear Eagle LS2's....They suck.
The size is 235/45/17.
I like the stock wheels that come with it, so I'm not changing them to 18's or 19's.
(THESE)
......But the tires themselves have gotta' go.
Anyone have recommendations for a great grippy tire to throw on the Quattro?
I had Kumho Ecsta's (6.5 outta' 10) and Yokohama AVS ES100's (8.5 outta' 10) on my BMW, but
not sure if there's a better tire or value for for the B7's. In order of requirement: Grip, then road noise, then tread life.
If they're gone in 10k miles, then that means I was putting them to good use.
Help if you can. Thanks if you do.
p.s. PLEASE don't say Conti's. I would rather drive on the bare rim.

RE: Ripping the OEM Tires off the B7.....
I've always had great luck with Bridgestones. And that's what I go with when I have a choice. As soon as my new wheels get here, I have a set of 235/35ZR19 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions waiting to go on my A4. You should be able to find those fairly easily for around a buck and a half.
