Default Right Outer tie rod

Hello fellows, I just got a call from my mechanic that my right outer tire rod has a lot of play hence unsafe to drive... he recommended me taking this back to the dealer. What i want to know it how much will something like this cost me? I also had a question about dealer alignments... how will that cost me as well.

Thanks in advance for your help

The dealer is going to cost you an arm and a leg. When I had mine replaced I think it was 60 for the part and 200 for install and alignment.

Well yeah, but they are all in Ohio. Any euro mechanic should be able to do this. Just open the yellow pages.

well well well... so out of curiosity, I called the closers dealership and got a quote for the replacement of the front tire rod and possibly the assembly as well... i also made him throw the alignment cost for kicks...

replacement only - abt #300 with labour

replacement with assembly included - abt $400

replacement with assembly and alignment - $520

now i think those foos are kidding me

first of all konboy, you need a tie rod, not tire rod...but make sure he didn't say "tie rod end"....that piece is very easy to replace and costs less than 50 bucks....ecstuning sells a better, heavy-duty one for pretty cheap..
