Default Ride home

Drove home today, 3 and half hour trip (tally to tampa) and had many many problems. The car had a big misfire at the start of the trip when i went into boost. Now one of the cooling fans seems to be a bit louder. The turbo makes a more airy noise (as opposed to a whine) and the car would go in and out of power. To explain this i mean that, I would run it without going into boost (for fear of the epc light) and it seemed the car would kind of shutter when i tried to accelerate or keep my speed going up a hill. It would have no power, and going into boost would o nothing. The car seemed to be bogging down alot. Im about to do my timing belt tonight and tomorrow, hoping the new temp sensor will solve my problems with the car running rich. But i hate to say, i feel like more damage is done here. Any opinions?

I got some bosch +2's in there right now i think, came with the ko4 awe kit. I had some ngk's in there before, and experienced no difference, but that was before i had so many misfires. Can a plug foul out in under 10k? Maybe since im running rich?

Yeah i would def think a rich running engine can fowl a plug up under 10k miles. My motorcycle was running rich and the one cylinder had a plug full of carbon. When i tried accelerating on it, it would bog down, than take off around 7k rpm and than bog down alil again around 9k rpm. Thats a motorcycle and another set of probs which i wont get into.

Ok, just pulled the plugs, not what i expected. 3 of the plugs are ashy white. One is black. WTF? White is lean conditions and too hott. and black should be rich right?

I also looked down at the pistons, the where the whitest plugs came from have the dirtiest,(greasy) lookin crap in the whole, or on the top of the piston, the back two, including the blacked out spark plug seem to have very dry clean looking pistons. WHat is this telling me?

Try and take a pic of the plugs, yes if the one plug is pretty black than its rich. now the ashy white ones, are you sure they look like they could be lean? thats why i ask to take a pics. it is also important that you have the plugs gapped to the right specs, did you do that when you changed them?

They are pre gapped. And if they are white then they are white, i already put them back in the car for the time being, the timing belt is top priority.

i saw your other plug thread, i'd like to be of more help right now but i am somewhat inebriated. i have to leave anyway but good luck and if they are pregapped.. you should be fine. it's really odd your situation to me anyway. than again i don't know that much about cars, i just read and learn like everyone else. honestly if the t-belt was done properly at 80k miles and your on 86k miles you shouldnt even have to worry about it till you get to 160k miles. but hey, if the timing was alittle off.. maybe thats the prob. hope cincy or some other regular can help you out more, good luck and i will see you around.
