Default recall question

I was reading about a recall for the 97 A4 about the airbags... It's an old recall but I think this might have happened to my car now my airbag light is on, if I take it to the dealer will they fix it if is in fact because of that recall, or not since it's an old recall... would that matter if its an old recall?

just cause your airbag light is on doesn't mean there is any faulty parts of the airbag system - mine came on when I jumpstarted my car one cold morning. just use a VAG to reset your system - if it comes back, get the code and we might be able to help

Recalls don't expire. If you do reset it with the vag, i would still take it in to the dealer to see if it has been performed. They should be able to tell you after inspecting it.
