Default Rear Deck Vibrations

[align=left]EDIT: Check the bottom post by me on this topic for why I bumped it up.

I'm assuming most if not all of the Audi's came with a small stock sub, well in my B7, there is an obnoxious vibration coming from the rear brake light.

Its definitly from the bass (don't tell me to turn it down, I'm not looking for help like that).

Has anyone in their B7 noticed the same problem, if so, how did you solve it? The dealer said its not part of the warrenty and they won't fix it for free. I've tried many things, and this was the result of my failures:

Thanks

Have you tried thin foam padding between the light and the glass? I can't tell if there is any seal around it or not. If that doesn't work, try some plastic washers between the screws and the housing for the red lens.

The dealer has to cover rattles on a car thats under warranty, if they don't want to comply go over their heads and call audi of north america.

are you 100% positive it's coming from that area? 'cause on my b5 there are holes in the top of the trunk from the inside.. and there where wires lying on one of the holes which was making a rattling noise that sounded like it was cominig from that area.. kind of hard to explain, and i don't nkow what the inside of a b7 trunk looks like.

Absoulutly sure, I physically held the brake light in place with my hand and the vibration stopped. I tried to tape it down earlier last week but it wasn't staying secure for more then 10 seconds; the music would release the tension and it would vib again.

But I'll listen ot AudiTech and when I go in to get my car detailed on the 29th with the dealer, I'll demand it be fixed, along with my mistake of what I showed in the photo.

i have the same problem with my car only i have a b5. i also have 2 12" subs so i expected some ratteling. my whole rear deck shakes tho and it sounds like a peice of ply-wood vibrating. i guess its just something u gotta deal with if you want bass in your car. BTW my subs are for sale if anyone is interested.

I had to bump this up...

I recently had my 5k mile check. I had the plastic part that I pressed out of place fixed no problem, but they said the vibrations from the bass is not something they need to fix; the bass vibrations are natural. I'm finally getting fed up with the noise and the complaints from my buddies who sit in the backseat.

Basically I'm asking a knowledgable person here if this should be fixed by the dealer, as in the vibrations should not be 'natural'.
