actually do some research on the 1.8t and then post(trying not to sould like a dick btw)
but the ko3 turbo's turbine actually relies on the backpreasure caused by the cat and small exhaust to get it to spin and make torque earlier. been proven that an exhaust, TP, and intake do little to nothing in performance gains once you chip your car

i love 1.8's, i think there awesome cars to mod, but on the flip side, when running a quarter mile (up to 100mph) a stock 2.8 will outrun a chipped, AND CHIPPED ONLY, 1.8......

Everyone tells me i should have bought a 1.8t and somethime i wish i di but im happy with my 12v. i personnly think its rev faster, is more reliable than any turbo motor and i love the sound of this particular N/A motor. Im quite happy with my 2.8 and the only thing i would trade up for is a 2.0t or 2.7t. otherwise ill stick with my old school 12v.

lol heck ya man, the car in my sig is a 12v, its my old car, and theyre nice automobiles regardless of who says what. the 12v is really not too much slower than the 30v, its only got 20 less hp..

RE: the real question 1.8 - 2.8
:::::::::::::::::::: a chipped 1.8t does have morer power than a 2.8 (about 208 compared to 190) but the 2.8 has a MUCH broader powerband. power comes on sooner and keeps on due to its larger engine and no turbo issues. thats why the power band has a lot more to do with speed than the peak HP

yeah the k03 is small but thats what helps it spool up so damn fast... Its great for city driving.. Sort of hard to utilize a BT in the city, 35-45mph roads etc. A k04 ofequal size is even better.. But hey, I'd take a 30v any day. I think they are great engines and if i had one id probably keep the engine mostly stock cuz i know its extremely reliable that way. I also drive a maxima so i have a lot of respect for NA engines as well. Im not completey 1.8t/turbo biased. The Maxima has been the most reliable car I have enver owned and the engine has always been in the Consumer Reports "Top 10" engines list. I dont think the 1.8t ever made that list.

i would love to take a 1.8t or a 2.8 and use the money i dont have to not pressurize the **** out of it, but compleetly build the engine. pulling the engine out of a 68 mustang and building it isnt a problem. pulling the engine out of these with the 2394872384 wires in em is just a b*tch!! grrr...i want like a 94 M3, right before they went all computer. that car has pOtential

I ran a bottle of that fuel addative from Audi "AUTO Solutions" and I have noticed the 30v pick up some seriouspep and pull through the RPM'salot better... Car ony has 90K miles on it and I have ran Chevron fuel cleaner through it twice before and someother one I dont remmber the name of (usual gas station stuff), nevernotice any difference... Car only has 92K miles on it, I was suprised how much power was lost over time...
Just some advice for anyone with a 30v...
