Alright im really pissed. so last night minnesota got to -2 and wind chill to -16 or whatever it was. my car gets the joy of being outside to face to weather. i have to get a new batterty cuz this one that i have just doesnt have enought juice to start it after sitting out for 7 hours in that temp. so my radio goes into SAFE mode and i do everythign the manual says but it wont accept my code that i have. i dont want to go to the dealer cuz it will be $$$. is there anything i can do? why would i have to worng code? i just got the car from the dealer in DECember.

 

Are you using the correct way to input the code? It's kinda funky.

 

I did the same thing this morning but it was -18 below here(not windchill)- I traveled out to Bismark last night to see inlaw's this morning no juice. I finally got it started after like 20 min of charging. Now I have a check engine light and my radio is in safe mode. I'll plug my #'s in later - I've done it before so I know mine has the right code. and I'll vag it and clear the codes when I get home. Just wanted to share your pain

if the dealer/ garageprovided the radio code and its not the right one they should sort it out otherwise its called deception ( worth a try ) or get the code wiped

 

yeah im going to go back on monday and tell them they gave me the wrong code. and my chek engine light is on too so all i need them to do is clear them or if i go to the dealership will they charge me to clear and "fix" the problem.

I am pushing the p.scan and rbds buttons in until 1000 comes up and then i use the 1-4 radio buttons on it and go to the code that is in my book and press the p.scan and rbds buttons until the work safe comes up but then just flashes and still no radio.
