Default Radiator fluid

Is coolant in 03 A4 1.8T supposed to be brown? I've never seen anything like that before, I hope that's standard. If not then I'm getting some oil mixed with coolant

Take a sampe of your coolant, sometimes the coolant expansion tank turns brownish. The coolant should be a vibrant pink color. If your coolant is indeed brown, stop driving the car and have it looked at.

Any type of white stuff on the inside of the fill cap? Also take a flashlight and shine it down into the oil fill. Look for white foam or slime.

Also, how long has this been your car?? The previous owner may have mixed green coolant with red, which turns the mixture brownish. If that is not the case, there are three issues that could cause this...blown head gasket (worst), blown oil cooler (bad), or yellowed/browned expansion tank (best!).

I've had this car for about a month and got it from a dealer.

With a blown gasket I would surley notice some unusual noises and/or fluctuations in fluid levels right?
