Default radiator.. blah

yea so i pulled into my friends house last night, and all my radiator fluid was on the ground in about 5 minutes.. leaking from the pasenger side bottom, didnt have time to look at it yet was just woundering if anyone knew if there was a hose on that side.. think i read somewhere that the end tanks crack.. so basically if thats the deal i bet i need a new radiator.. what do u guys think..

gee thanks.. if it has not been poring hear for the last 48 hours i might have done that.. just wanted to know if there was a hose on that side of the radiator.. didnt want some smart answer..

yea so i got pissed and just looked at the car in the rain, cat really tell where its coming from but it seams to be directly behind the electric fan not one of the end tanks.. dose the whole front half of the car have to come off to get at to the radiator?

wouldnt mind some help..

If its a 1.8t AEB code engine,

the water pump is behind the fan. Sounds like a busted water pump, or the hose connecting to the water pump, or the thermostat housing gasket.

Yes, you must remove bumper, and radiator to get to it. This would be a good time to do t-belt if it is the water pump that needs replaced.

You can see much easier if you remove the belly pan, and follow the lower radiator hose to the water pump. You should be able to see then where it is coming from.

I already did timming belt and water pump, I said the electric fan not the clutch fan so I know its not the water pump, at any rate i took the bumper off and got the radiatior out it was leaking in the middle of the radiator.. kind of odd, car only as 80k on it and there are no holes or marks on the radiator its just pissing out from the middle..

Take it to a shop they should be able to patch it easy. if its metal, weld the biotch.

a new one is only 139 from ecs I drive way to much to want to worry about some patch job and its aluminum it probibly could be fixed but i dont want to chance it would rather spend the money have the peace of mind, and not have to pay for a 250 tow in a few weeks or months or whatever
