Default Quiet exhaust system

I am looking to buy one of the quieter exhaust systems for my b6 a4. The one's I have heard are quiet are the APR stealth and Milltek systems. Any recommendation between those two performance wise? Also should I add the Borla into that mix or is it considerably louder. I want a deeper sound that is a little louder.. but nothing I am going to notice to much inside the cabin. thanks in advance

I agree with the way you want your exhaust to sound, I'm going to go the same way in the spring. I've checked alot of different sites, especially with sound clips, & have decided to go with apr stealth. The apr tubing is a little larger than Milltek, & in my area, the apr is also slightly cheaper. If you want to see a good clip of this system, go to the apr site, & under the SCR icon, there is the episode where they install this system on an A4 & then track test it. They certainly liked it.

In general, Milltek is quieter than APR. I found that out from reading all the posts.

my decision just got made easier.. I didnt know APR didnt make an exhaust system for automatic cars. looks like I am getting milltek. Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy the miltek online? After looking around a little it looks like Stratmosphere is the best place to buy it online... it is located in NY which is pretty close so shipping wont take long either.

I've been trying to decide on a "quieter" exhaust too but for my 97 A4 1.8TQ 5spd. From lots of forum searching it sounds like the 2.75" Milltek is a great option, especially if you get a resonated system. I am also considering the 2.5"stainless catback system from Techtonics Tuning that uses Borla mufflers which I hope will be a little quieter than the AWE Borla catback that uses 2.25" pipes. I think I'm going with the Techtonics- it's a couple hundred cheaper from my installer and I've heard good things- I just hope those straight thru mufflers aren't too loud.

I would buy a Milltek if I could find a cheaper deal, but I can't find one for a B5 Quattro anywhere for less than $1000. Here's a link to stratmosphere who has been recommended in several posts.

Achtuning

Fixx
You can also try Achtuning (links above) or Fixx Tuning, but they are all about the same price (1000-1100 for B6 depending on model). Beware the shipping charges- Fixx looks $50 cheaper but they actually jack up shippping by the same amount.
