quick question - subwoofer placement
Right now my subs are facing the back of my car. There is 19" from the sub to the trunklid of my car where the license plate is (Straight back)...Either the air getting pushed out of the box or just the power of the subs is really causing rattle. I know i have posted about this before...but now im thinking...what if I turned my box so that my subs pointed straight up to the rear deck? What if i pointed them right at my back seats? If the trunk lid rattle would decrease...my sound quality would greatly improve. Can anyone tell me before I go and switch my box around if it is worth it and if i could see big differences?

depends ... if your box is sealed it shouldnt do anything really ... if it is ported ... then yess it could change it .... never herts to try ... but in the end your gonnna have to put some kind of a cushion or sound dampening in those spots to really make your SQ what you want

What is rattling? From the sounds of it, your license plate. If so, just put some Dynamat between the plate/car. There's nothing more annoying to everyone else than a rattling license plate.

dynamat will greatly help but i have found that unless u want to foam and fully dynamat the entire trunk nothing is going to stop the rattle completely. however, mine is a lot better now that i dynamated just the trunk lid. it used to rattle at any volume but now that the dynamat is in, it only rattles a tiny bit when the sub is thumping. the only downside is that you will have to get rid of the carpeting piece on the trunk lid... i didnt think that was a bid deal though.
