Quick one...How much should a clutch install cost??
I've got the clutch already... just don't know how much it SHOULD cost to get it installed. I was quoted 1200-1400 at the stealership, and 900-1000 at the audi/bmw shop by my house. Anyone had it done recently and done thier shopping? thanks guys, btw mines a '96 2.8Q 5spd

ive heard its a job and a half... $700 is probably fair if u can get that... but get a set price before they dig in and make sure they are using new flywheel bolts if your car needs them, i know b6's do

Well called the local shop today, they estimated at around $1200 for labor, and I already have the clutch. I'm guessing thats a little high, from what you guys are saying. I need my 150,000 mile tune also, but sounds like I better do some shopping around.... so I don't get bent over

I was quoted 9 hours at the dealer at $100 an hour. Plus I checked 5 other places and they were about the same with the hours or a little more, yet labor was a little less per hour. However I prefer to know that when I get my clutch replaced it is by someone who has done this many times in the past, ie dealer. What clutch/flywheel combo did you get? I was priced about $1000 for a Spec stage 2+ and aluminum flywheel with shipping from Spec. I thought that seemed pretty steep. Plus definately make sure you go with all new and hardened bolts upon replacement.
