one of my friends got her 96 A4 2.8Q automatic at 110,000 forhalf year.however, the transmission died a week ago. it could get any grip on 1st gear, the 2,3,4 and reverse worked well. the questions are:
1. does this model have a short-life transmission?
2. she had an accident three months ago that the front driver side wheel was hit by a SUV. the alignment was knock off but the car was still drivable except the steer wheel was pulling aside. she didn't repair anything until the transmission went bad. is it possible that the transmission could be damaged by the impact through the drive axle?
