LOL, im not real big on the subject but if someone really wants to upgrade a turbo he should go for gold IMO, but if he just want's to replace his blown k03 then a k04 or elim is the way to go. My 2 cents.
Me being a single turbo toyota supra owner from the past.

ok my class got canceled, so im back. damn im addictied to the internets

Cincy, are we comparing Fwd GTI dyno's from vortex to my AWD dyno's??? look anawfull lot like it..

and that first dyno. look at his peak power. im not sure what's wrong with his car. maybe he's on the base APR file of like 19psi. not only does it take him til 6800rpms to hit 300whp.but he's only above it for about 400rpms.

the second dyno, looks spot on to spool time and power output of a gt28r. doubt that would be a rs

and in regards to the dyno's that i posted. pretty much all of them except the one done at 5000+ft elevation, and the pdf file dyno, held their power to redline. as well as many others i've seen. you keep implying that these turbos(elims and t25's) are night and day different. but they aren't. remember that the CHRA's are the same in them

We are talking power curves and spool times. FWD/AWD doesnt matter. But psi for psi, a t3/t25 housing turbo will spool faster and make more power early, longer and overall. You would have to run more psi to make the same amount of power with a elim turbo. So the peaks can be made, but at what level and for how long?

And i was lazy on giving examples, i just went through the first page of the 1.8t sections dyno thread. Im sure there are better graphs, im just to lazy to find them.

I personlly wouldnt go through all the crap with a elim, there are way to many negatives involved with them. I rather pay a little more and buy a t3 framed garrett with a gt chra and call it done.

I picture and eliminator turbo at max power like a fat guy trying to blow air through a straw,
he is either gonna pass out or blow a hole in his pants. LOL

ugh cincy.. you and your numbers and your dyno spool times...

first off, yes when talking spool times, it wont matter between fwd and awd. but the curve and the power ouput does. which wewere talking max power ouput. in fact, remember this little statement a couple posts back?

ORIGINAL: cincyTT

This .86 looks like a elim spool but makes 350whp on a gt28rs
anyways, secondly, you are forgetting one main thing. actual driving experience and feel. how many BT A4 1.8ts have you driven? all you are doing is comparing dyno charts from VW's

Then you go start lining up BT a4's for me then. Still psi for psi.... elims lose out. Everyone i have seen has still had low numbers ordecent numbers but with tons of boost to make up for it. The lag is bad, and even worse on the transverse cars.

I said it before and ill say it again, there are way to many negatives to running an eliminator and only cost for running a t3/t25 garrett.

im NOT talking about VW's. this is an audi A4 forum. NOT a 1.8t engine forum. i am talking about what works for B5/B6longitudinal AEB, ATW, AWM, and AMB 1.8t A4s.and if you payed attention, you would see that i already lined up 15 B6 1.8t's on the track for you. and 9 of the 15 BT cars are eliminator(even the GT2X) cars.

track results will be FAR more informative on how a car is running rather than trying to compare 42 different dyno's that are all calibrated differently. who knows, maybe all the dyno's i posted are happy dyno's reading really high. maybe yours are..

but i doubt the ones i posted are cause, the proof is in the pudding

posting it again-------->http://www.mjbmotorsport.com/sitebui...medatabase.htm
