Default Question for the BT guys

Hey-

I have a question for the BT guys. I've got a k04 right now. My exhaust system right now is the stock cat welded to a 2.5" custom job all the way back (done by the guy before me).

I have the opportunity to get an ATP 3" test pipe / flex hose for a pretty good price (100), and I'm wondering if I should even worry about it, because I'm not sure how well a BT (any) would match up with the stock exhaust system. I'm sure it varies by turbo, but will I use the tp if I go big turbo next summer? If so, I'll get it and let it chill in the garage, but if I'm going to need to use something else, I'll save my money. Thanks in advance.

deff get the TP, its def needed for BT setups you dont need it now but if you want to put it in and but it to the 2.5 exhaust that would work well too

the tp will get tossed if he gets a real turbo.... i dont count a elim a real turbo.

I would just keep what you got.

Cincy- That's what i figured. What would you consider a real turbo? And what would take its place? (the tp)

real turbos- gt28rs, gt2871r, gt3071r, gt35r, t3t4 of various trims, etc...

each comes with different stlye flanges. the elim turbos have the same flange as the stock k03 and k04 but not the ones listed above, so your jus gona have to sell the test pipe when you go BT

obviously this isnt directed to me, but its not common to have 350 on an elim, i;ve been looking around alot at bt setups, and if you are serious about it go with the gt28rs, elim is like halfassin it. and with the gt28rs you will deffinetly get 350+ with the supporting mods. dont think your guna get that with the elim..safely.

Theres several posts on this, give a search on bt, of gt28rs. the 28rs kit will run you around 2400 without fmic and tuning.

haha, maybe you should stick to modding your 12v

the GTRS and 71r eliminator turbo's are bassed off of the full GT28RS and GT2871r. from what i have seen, 400Bhp is easily acheivable on both of the elims. that's about the power you're going to get out of a full GT28RS. but with the full GT2871r, up to 450Bhp is attainable

the only problem with the eliminators are that they use the stock 3 bolt BorgWarner style housings. which will hurt spool time slightly and power output..

what isn't wrong with the elims, is that it is a cheaper alternative to the full turbo's. your engine bay will stay looking OEM. and they have been proven to work many, many times.

just look at all the fastest A4 1.8t cars in the 1/4 mile.. 90 percent of them are eliminator turbo's

here's the 1/4 mile database for just the B6 A4s, the only ones one there that aren't elminator turbo's are the APR and GIAC software cars. everything else, are elims----->http://www.mjbmotorsport.com/sitebui...medatabase.htm
