question about changing brakes
i need to change the pads and shoes on my car
2001 a4 fwd 54K.
----
everyone that i ask says that i also need to change the rotors on the car as well. is that the truth?
and secondly, i know how to change brakes on cars, but never done so on the a4. Its not any harder than most cars is it?
thanks in advance

RE: question about changing brakes
I have also been told this, but my car has a lot of miles on it and I was planning on upgrading soon anyway. As for audi brakes being different, the rear calipers need to be twisted when you push the piston back in, you can buy a special tool to do this ECS sells it for $42 but I got the exact same one from harbor freight for 17.99 so just look around.

RE: question about changing brakes
No the brakes are the same pretty much its just that the studs arent connected to the hub, its kind of PITA, but look at the rotors if they are warped groved or have a lip i would get new ones. ECS tuning has nice kits.
