i went with a spec 16lblw flywheel since my clutch went as well and was told you cant resurface a dual mass flywheel. spec lwfl was cheaper in price than a oem dual mass. also got the southbend stg 3 clutch.

 

well my clutch isn't COMPLETELY toast. i just drove it around the neighborhood and to my surprise no jerking in 1st or reverse and no problem getting it into gear, but if i tried accelerating somewhat fast it started slipping almost right away. so i guess i'll just have to take it into the shop and have them open up the transmission and see if the flywheel can be resurfaced, if so i'll send it out to southbend, if not i'll just have to buy a flywheel as well.

why the hell is a stock audi flywheel so expensive? even at my discounted price they said 600, yet i can get OE dual mass from SB for 500 and other LW ones for 300-400...
