Default propane conversions

Anyone done this to their A4's? I have an 03 A4 3.0 that i'm thinking about doing this to. It is this or selling the car and purchasing a truck to run on propane.

Well, it would work if you had a carburator, but since you don't I'll sit on the hill and watch the ensuing explosion for comic relief.

hey my grill runs on propane too maybe u could grill me up some burgers on that sucker. just messin man, hey propane is way less efficient than gas so i would stick with gas for now. not to mention unless u can somehow keep it liquid out of the tank then its gonna be impossible with fuel injection

^^^^^^^I love your sig Yankee, LOL.

Just get one thats a deisel, then you can home brew the bio deisel in the garage.

Or fire up the still, you can run your car on that stuff, and it drinks well too.

ha ha thanks man.
yea goin with a deisel is def the way to go, plus if u know any fast food resturants around (and who doesnt) then u can get them to give you the used oil, which converts to biodeisel really easy, and the best part is, ITS FREE

why do you want to run something on propane...
Well, a couple of reasons. Propane for vehicle use is about $1.60 a gallon, and you get relatively the same performance/milage from it. A little less than a pure gas car, but if its set up right, you're talking about almost unnoticable differnences. Plus, vehicle propane tanks are vastly superior than gas tanks as far as safety is concerned. They arent the run of the mill grill bottle. Also, propane has almost no hydrocarbon emissions so, no 'soot' building up in your engine and exhaust system, and it's hella clean for the environment. Thats why a propane vehicle can be used indoors, whereas a gas or deisel vehicle cannot. The problem is you can't inject propane, it has to go through a carburator as a gas. If you inject it, it has to be in liquid form which means you're going to need to keep it in a cryogenic state. (that means really f'ing cold) and so you're going to run into all sorts of weight and power problems just keeping it cold. So, that's why it's a cool mod for your early 80's pickumup truck, but not for your A4

lets also not forget the logistical part of this, as is where the hell you gonna fill it up
I belive all propane sellers in our state are requeierd to fill only cierten bottles with very specific safty devices. if you were interested in a project like this, natural gas would be the way to go, cuz it more availible, you can buy a kit to tap into your house line, and it is around the same price
