I did a search and didn't quite find the answer. Does a warranty from a say 2004 Audi with 20,000 miles transfer to the new owner if it is bought from a private party seller, ie not certified preowned? Is this process automatic or do you need to register it? Thanks.

 

yes, the warranty is on the car, not the owner. When they take it in for the first time, and show their registration, the name onthe car will be changed in Audi's system.

 

Thanks a lot, I never bought a used car that still was covered by a warranty and wasn't sure if it was brand specific. A dealer had told me if I bought a used Audi from a dealership that was not an offical Audi dealership then the warranty was void, that doesn't sound right.
