THERE IS NO H IN VTEC.....and its different from variable valve time.....vtec is variable valve timing and electronical lift control.....and you do build more power.....
i have built hondas for years and yes they have no torque, but make good power.....i have a b5 a4 now with chip, cai, and dv and i love it, so i will stay with the german cars for now.

Sorry I put an H on the end, but shouldn't he be hitting max power around 5k?
What's the redline on a vtec?
And it still has vvt, as well as the electronic lift, but I am no Honda guy, never will be.
if it was so great he would have won the race I guess.

lol ya i read somewhere that one of the top guys in honda owns a sick 700 hp mustang 5.0 (i;ve owned 2 and love them) when a reporter asked him why he races a mustang and not a honda he replied, i could race a honda but i'd have to spend about 8 times what i put into this mustang lol

I'm not an expert either but i know a few kids wit VTECs. He should just be getting into the power at 5k rpm... but there should b more from there to redline becuase thats the time the other valve is open to allow for more air into the motor. Correct me if I'm wrong on that because I'm curious.

WTF does that mean???? He sounds like he's not too bright and doesn't even know how to drive his own car, yet alone know how the engine works.
Vtech is variable valve timeing, and the timing varies throughout the rpm range, to give you better fuel economy in the lower rpm, and more power in the higher rpm. But at 5k he should be getting the most power.
He is CLUELESS

he also said he was barely hitting v-tech

iV-Tec is infinitly variable valve timeing. thats when it is all over. but in that prelude, the valve timeing changes once and only once at a perdetermined RPM
