Actually, it probably can be done with the bumper on, but its not worth the headache/back ache. Once you get the bumper off and swing the lock carrier out of the way everything is right in front of you and you can do the rest sitting on a stool if you want.
Takes about an hour to get the bumper off and swing the lock carrier out of the way for a first timer, the rest still takes some time but at least youll be comfortable getting at it from a good angle.

About 1.5 hours for the bumper the first time for me and 15 minutes max. the next eight times....it will get easier and easier and easier the more you do it and you will and you will and you will, but it's alot of fun.
To bleed your PS check this semi-related post http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng.htmlon installing a PS cooler. Note that frontwheels must be off the ground. Turn steering left to right lightly hitting the bumps and do not hold prolonged against bump stops. Shut car off let it sit for a while, top off and do it again.
