Please help A4 stalling. How to clean throttle body and ICV?
I have spent over £100 trying to diagnose this problem and it still exists. 2 garages I've taken it to are both stumped even the Audi garage.
The car is a 1.6se Audi A4 99 ADP and idles/stalls when the clutch is depressed or changing gear after about 10 min of driving. It's an absolute nightmare driving around town as its constantly stalling but generally starts straight away after.
After many searches it seems all VW/Audi cars have a similar problem when the Idle Control Valve or Throttle Body needs cleaning. The problem is how is this done? The only information available on the web ICV cleaning are for V8 engines only and are completely different to the ADP version I have.
I have a Haynes manual but nothing seems to be mentioned in there. Any further information would be appreciated.

yes Ive checked that link and its no good for my engine. There isnt any electrical fault as like I said its even been to the audi garage. I did ask them if there had been any know issues with older audis stalling and they said there wasnt yet after 10 mins of surfing the web it was clear that were was an issue with many older audis. These guys were suppose to be professionals!
Anyway I know the problem is that the parts need cleaning but can anybody tell me how this is done? I realise the best option is a garage but Ill be damned if im forking out any more on this problem.
