Always get a carfax report and get it checked out by a Audi mechanic.

don't expect any problems really until more like 50-75k. One thing to check for though is strange noise like squeeking, rubbing, or clanking when turning. Also have a master mechanic overview the car before you buy it.

would you guys jump on this deal, i've got an altima to trade in, and ill get about 16,500 on it. The audi is an 02 1.8t with 29k. It has xenons, bose, front and rear heated seats, auto tranny, and quattro. The only reason why i wouldnt buy it would be because it was owned by a smoker, and the interior is a little scratched and beat up, but im sure i can get some junkyard parts. What do you all think? I would owe about 2000 on it... btw i would be giving up a pioneer gps b/c it seems like it would be too hard to install in the audi.

you can pick up an audi nav unit for under 2g's these days as well.

I'd pass because it's an auto, but if thats what your looking for an can get it for 2 grand then sounds like a deal. Is it from an audi dealer? Certified Pre-Owned? if so then thats even better

ahh, it isnt CPO, its from a small import dealer right by my house. Theyre attached to a pretty large ford dealership and i comes with a 60 day 2500 mile warranty from the dealer. The car itself i have just noticed looks like it has had a few run-ins with some other cars, but absolutely nothing major, and they said they would fix all the cosmetic flaws at their body shop before i bought it.

warranty doesn't sound too good to me, with an Audi, bigger warranty is def worth the extra $$. Have an independent mechanic check it out tho, the fact that you said there are cosmetic flaws (possibly small accidents) warrant a serious check. Somtimes huge accidents can be hidden to the non mechanic eyes without a problem.

just curious, what kind of warranties do these audi's have? Mine will still be under the factory warranty, wont it? Also, the carfax is clean, god only knows what the scratches are from, dumba$$ previous owner, probably.

I believe that the audi carries a 40K 4 year warranty, but I bought mine with 80K so don't quote me.
