Plan on Getting an A4 1.8T
well guys i currently own a BMW but im getting rid of it soon and plan on getting an Audi A4 1.8T 96-98 i dont know much about Audis but ive always liked the style but anyways my question is are these good cars? easy to work on? and any problems i should worry about? what to look for? thanks

The car can be difficult to work on, but you've owned a european car. Shouldnt cause you any more problems than your BMW. Alot of people say Audis are hard to work on because there familiar with Japanese/American cars.

their really not all that different to work on. if you worked on your bimmer than you can work on an audi. just look at the mileage. every 80k or so the timing belt has to be replaced and if you cant DIY then it runs about 700 bux from a local shop and over a grand at dealerships. also shoot for a 99.5 A4 1.8TQM. its better than the other b5's

Audi's are high maintanance (well mine anyways) ! Timing Belt at 80K and clutch are both expensive jobs. Despite the seemingly endless repairs, the car looks great and drives as smooth as silk (plus: the girls love the elegance of the interior).
