Thanks...Im not sure what I did....

I always run 91 octane fuel...the plugs I bought are the recommended NGK BKR6E Copper Plugs...I gapped them to .032...???

do they need to be tightened or could it be somethin else??

any suggestions...??

thanks all

gap them a little bit smaller like .030. the bigger the gap the bigger the spark. the bigger the spark the longer it take to jump the electrode. even this fraction of a fraction of a sec. could cause the fuel to ignite at the wrong time. the way to counter a bigger spark is to retart timing. i wouldnt recommend this as it takes a lot of trial and error and the wrong degree of retartation will cause a choppy idle and a loss of low end torque and acceleration. the upside of retardation is the powerband is more linear up top.

a ping sound is this problem mentioned above, a knocking sound (yes they are different) is a result of high engine temperature or low octane fuel.

the copper plugs are good but they go bad quick. you need to change them every other oil change. yeah to un gap you just push down with the gaping ring. Does the manual say to gap at .032? if it does i would check the gap but would regp to the same setting. im not sure if you can retard timing with an audi, they dont make engines like they used too. anywys i hope everything works out

Ya thats what I heard about the copper plugs....I will keep them changed out often....
As for the gap I read up and researched the topic alot on here AudiZine and AudiWorld...from what I found its .032 stock....028 chipped...is that right...??

So D your tellin me I should go halfway...ie .030 and she will run right??

You always have the tightest pics....lol...Did you try and out run that there Cop Viper??? You may have a k04 and allota mods...but bro...vipers can run up to 800 900 hp...lol

Look forward to your reply

Yah dave you can find adjustable timing gears but like most fuel injected cars ultimately the ecu will probly try to counteract what you do or give you a cell

Ya I dont think I would mess with any of that...timing etc...I was always told that any newer car should never be changed...
