RE: Paint Job Price Quote
Depends, 6K might get you an assload of body work, and they might wetsand between coats of clear. You want to see an amazing paintjob.... check out some old show car that has been painted, cleared, wetsanded, cleared again, and wetsanded again. NO ORANGE PEEL AT ALL.
It's amazin'
A 2-3K paintjob is average, but won't be as good as it was from the factory. 6K SHOULD be as good as a factory job.

$6K on paint is pretty ridiculous unless it's absolutely custom. Like candy paint (chameleon) doesn't even cost that much. IF you wanna do that more power to you. I think it could be pretty sweet. You can definitely find something closer to $3K for the whole car or just get pieces. I did my roof, trunk, and rear fenders for $800 sanded to metal then repainted.
Another idea that i was riding on for a while was to wait for someone to hit one of my bumpers so that I could get them redone on someone else's dime.

point taken guys. I was looking at the Rieger kits to go with it. i was thinking that maybe i could try that Macco respray crap and save for 3-4 months and go all out... but i wouldn't be able to paint the kit at that same place cuz i'm sure the paint would peel in a second right? damn!! i can't wait that long...
