Default Paint Job Price Quote

Ok, so I am not the smartest person and happened to run over newly painted yellow road markers. I got yellow paint on 2 wheelwells and a little on car. And, the car has a lot of highway debris chips, so I figured it's time to paint this puppy again.

Here's what I got quoted:

$6,000 for a repaint with about $1,200 worth of custom paint and 60-80 shop hours to do it. The guy is really into detail and stuff. But **** $6,000.

So my question is, what the hell is a realistic price I can get without going to Maco's (however you spell that).

....And I'd figured I'd slap on a Reiger RS4 kit in the process.

I thought MACCO has a deal that repaints your whole car for like $500-$700 (if the new color is the same with your old color), the paint itself was only $249, as advertised on TV

maaco is actually a very good deal, but you get what you pay for...the 6 grand paint job is going to look better, cleaner, last longer, and shine more...2-3 grand is probably an average paint job price.

It will also heavily depend on the amount of prep they have to do to the body.

I'm paying close to 1500 just to have the hood, front and rear bumper and side skirts done later this month. Thats with purchasing new front and rear bumper skins and side skirts. So there is minimal prep needed, it worked out about $400 cheaper this way then having them prep and paint the current body kit.

you might be able to get that fixed if you talk to the right people at county, my friend had his rims bent from running over potholes in the spring and he had to get two qoutes and then the county or state sent him a check.
