overheat oil !!!

RE: overheat oil !!!
Yeah mine does the same thing, the oil temp will spike while my engine temp remains fine and there is no loss of performance. Then it will just drop to normal. Sometimes it does not read at all. For me my money is on sensor. Is yours always at 350 or does it seem to fluctuate violently like mine?

RE: overheat oil !!!
yes, my engine temperature remains fine, but my oil temperature increase constantly until it reaches over 350.
It happened just after I top off my engine coolant reservoir.
I checked my oil level and it is still fine.
so yeah, im not really sure whats wrong and i dont think its the sensor.

RE: overheat oil !!!
If your engine itself is not running hot, then it is most likely the oil temp senor itself that is the problem.
If your oil was really that hot, then your engine temp would be way up there too.
The adding of coolant, and the probelm you are experiencing, are just coincidence. If your engine temp is normal, there is nothing wrong with the coolant system. So, change the engine oil temp sensor. thats the first step.

RE: overheat oil !!!
ive been driving the car around for about 1 hour today. stop and go of course.
and it seems that the oil temperature back to normal.
This step that I took might fixed the problem:
open the coolant reservoir
start squeezing the big black hose that is connected to the reservoir. Thanks godfather.
PS: DO NOT OVERFILL YOUR COOLANT'S RESERVOIR!!!
